BNG Consultancy

Practical support to help developers deliver Biodiversity Net Gain well.

Better BNG partners

Trusted expertise from appraisal to long-term management

Many Better BNG partners offer ecological consultancy and BNG advice alongside, or separately from, offsite habitat unit sales. This means developers can access trusted expertise from early site appraisal and design through to delivery, monitoring and long-term habitat management.

Services vary by organisation and location, but may include:

  • BNG strategy and early advice
  • Ecological surveys and baseline assessments
  • Onsite BNG design and enhancement advice
  • BNG metric support
  • Habitat Management and Monitoring Plans
  • Protected species surveys and licensing support
  • Offsite unit advice
  • Conservation covenant support where applicable

NGO-led consultancy combines technical ecological advice with local landscape knowledge and long-term conservation experience — helping developers move beyond minimum compliance and deliver measurable, credible benefits for nature.
